Understanding the Papacy
Prime Matters is a project of Mary College at ASU in Tempe, AZ. It’s stated purpose is to “promote content that provides clear articulation of the first principles of the Catholic imaginative vision and applies them to various academic disciplines, professions, and current events.”
In the wake of the death of Pope Francis, Prime Matters is developing a five-part series on the papacy called Understanding the Papacy. They describe the series as follows:
“While we pray for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis, Catholics find themselves with renewed reason to reflect upon a great gift God has given us: the pope. In a five-part series, Prime Matters will explore the history and meaning of the papacy, helping Catholics and all people of goodwill to view the events and conversations of the coming weeks through a Catholic lens.
